It’s safe to say, the year 2020 has brought with it plenty of changes and that’s no different here at our clinic. Due to COVID19 we had a number of very distressing calls from our regular equine clients. Social distancing procedures and regulations made it no longer possible for clients to attend vet appointments with their beloved smaller animals.

Two particularly sad cases struck a chord with us. The first one was an elderly gentleman who had some hearing impairments and was unable to understand the tele consult system. He was fearful for his dog and couldn’t understand why his care giver was unable to take his dog to be seen by a vet in person. When we were contacted we agreed to see his care giver and delightful dog at our clinic. We were able to provide personalised care and reassurance to the elderly client via his care giver.

We were also contacted by a family who were unable to get an appointment with their regular vet to have their beloved dog euthanised. This is a tough decision to make but the family was also told that when an appointment would become available, they wouldn’t be able to be present with their beloved family pet. Thus, we started providing small animal veterinary care at the practice.

The services we provide here at our clinic are not in competition to any of our local small animal practices! We are available to see and treat small animals with routine illnesses and injuries. We refer all complicated medical and surgical cases to our well established local clinics. We aim to provide a more personal service, particularly for anxious cats and dogs that are frightened at the larger hospital style practices.
